Fix Open Source Python Software Contest

What are the Rules
The rules are simple:
- OpenRefactory will publish weekly challenges for you.
- A challenge will have a bug that iCR has detected on an open source software. We will challenge you to fix the problem in the code and create a patch. The challenge may also be to demonstrate that the bug we have detected can be exploited.
- Each problem has a difficulty level. The difficulty level is signified by the number of virtual gold coins you collect when you fix a problem.
- Submit your answer to research@openrefactory.com
- When you submit, send the submission artifact (mentioned in the problem), your full name and contact information, and your GitHub handle.
- We will keep a leaderboard.
- You can redeem your virtual coins once every month into cash prizes.
- 1 virtual silver coin is equal to BDT 10 and one virtual gold coin is equal to BDT 100.
- You can participate from anywhere in the world.
The software that we use, from our Facebook app on the cell phone to the operating system that runs a space station, are not written from scratch. 70% of all code in software applications come from open source libraries. It is critical to keep these libraries safe and secure so that our applications are also secure.
But open source software is fraught with security issues. OpenRefactory's Intelligent Code Repair (iCR) finds bugs in open source software with high precision; we find bugs that other tools miss.
Now we want to collectively take the step to bring these findings to the software maintainers and help them fix the problem. Together with your help, we will fix security problems in open source software. We ask you to participate in the "Fix open source Python software competition" for fun and profit.
The Rewards
- If your patch gets accepted by us, you get the amount of coins specified, but you will get virtual silver coins.
- We will submit the patch to the open source maintainer. Your GitHub handle will be included in the patch.
- When the patch gets accepted by the open source maintainer, your virtual silver coins will turn into virtual gold coins.
- This is a race. Only the first submitter whose fix has been accepted will get the coins. We will change the status of the problem when a patch for it has been accepted.
